What is TLC? TLC, or The Lincoln Commitment, is Lincoln’s primary fundraiser and is needed to support our teaching staff for educational programs not covered by the state.
What does my contribution cover? Your generous contribution provides the salary for these staff members. Specifically; Technology, Art, Reading Technician, Music and Classroom & P.E. aides and a Lead Aide.
Why do I have to fund these programs/positions? Don’t my taxes cover this? The state is unable to provide enrichment curriculum for all grade levels which is why our district and our PTA on top of that try to make up the difference.
Where does my contribution go? 100% of your tax-deductible contribution goes towards the salaries. These funds are not used for any other expense, such as school upgrades, Teacher Grants, etc. In the unlikely event we have an excess of contributions, that amount will be carried over for next year’s salaries.
Why are you asking for $650 per child? This amount was figured based upon the actual total needed to cover the salaries, divided by the number of students at Lincoln. However, any contribution is needed and much appreciated!
Is my contribution tax-deductible? Yes, your contribution is 100% tax-deductible, and you will receive a letter for tax purposes.
What happens if the TLC goal is not met? We never actually raise enough with TLC to cover all of the salaries we support, and unfortunately, we have had to lose a staff member before. While that possibility exists every year, we rely on other fundraisers such as gift wrap and Calypso to help make up the difference.
I can’t afford a large upfront contribution; can I make smaller ones throughout the year? Yes! For your convenience, you may set up a recurring donation, and we can automatically charge your card monthly. Or if you prefer, additional contributions can be made on this site any time during the year up until August, 2012. Feel free to come back as often as you need to donate.
How do I contribute? You can make a one-time contribution or set-up a recurring monthly donation here online with your credit card (payments by Paypal, No Paypal Account required) and forms are available in the office or on this site for check and credit card contributions, including pledge forms for monthly payments. If you are able, checks are best! Help put more of your donation to work by skipping those CC processing fees.
